In April, our PI, Dominika Grzesik, organized the Univesity of Wrocław’ Summer School on Crete! The event was arranged in collaboration with the Polish Archaeological Institute at Athens, as part of the Erasmus+ program. The participants spent the first two days in Chania, visiting local museums. On the third day, they took a trip to the ancient sites of Aptera and Eleftherna, the Arkadi monasteries and the necropolis in Armenia. Then, the Summer School moved to Heraklin for four days. The participants visited the Minoan palaces of Knossos, Malia, Phaistos and Agia Triada, the ancient settlements of Gournia and Azoria, and the historic city of Gortyn. Dr. Kostis Christakis, the Director of the BSA Knossos Research Centre, gave the participants a tour of Sir Arthur Evans’ former estate, close to his residence – the Villa Ariadne.
